WORLD CARIBBEAN GOLF CHALLENGE FINAL

The World Caribbean Golf Challenge Final took place in the Dominican Republic from 10th to 17th of December 2007.

The tournament was born in Italy with National Final in the Dominican Republic, but in the last two years it has been spreading all over the World.

Absolute Golf Italy, owner of the idea and brand of the tournament, organized both the Italian and the World Final with golfers from Germany, Usa, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Slovenja and Croatia.

A week full of relax and sun playing golf, all the guests stayed at Catalonia Gran Dominicus Resort in Bayahibe, La Romana. They arrived with their companions from 10 to 11 December and met the Absolute Golf staff.

All the finalists had the practice round on the famous Teeth of the Dog course, one of the best courses in the world.

The Final was on Thursday December 13th, with shot gun starting time at 12.30; the famous holes on the sea of the Teeth of the Dog were very hard to play because of the wind, a danger even for the experienced players!!! When the last foursome arrived at the club house, Mr Darrel Teubner, the Casa de Campo golfer referee, was doing the results. The bus service took all the golfers to the Resort and before the dinner the final results were put up at the Absolute Golf desk.

The day after golf Invitational for all, finalists and golfers at La Estancia Golf Resort, a new residential project at La Romana with a golf course, the last "son" of Pete Dye, among the villas and the Altos de Chavon river: an exclusive opportunity to play for the first time in a new golf course that will be inaugurate at the beginnig of March 2008.

La Estancia Golf Resort, in fact, will be the sponsor of the tournament for the next three years and the next World Final will take place at its course.

Mr Tiberio Avanzini owner of La Estancia and partner of the World Caribbean Golf Challenge in the Domincan Repubblic received the guests at the golf office and showed to all the golfers the project.

On Friday night the prize giving ceremony and the gala dinner in presence of Mr Anacleto Martin, President of Absolute Golf Italy, Tiberio Avanzini for La Estancia, Giuseppe Calderone licensee for Usa and all the golf teams from the Countries in the world that participated to this World Final.

Derek Arzoomanian from Usa won La Estancia Golf Invitational Tourment, together with Domenico Ribotta and Marco Antonio Quattrone from Italy, the first Lady was Silke Bachelin from Germany.
